Sport Starz Ltd is a sports activity company set up by Gareth Coombes and Michael Trotter. We offer tennis, dodgeball and pre-school coaching, private individual tennis lessons, children’s parties and a popular holiday activity club.

Every parent needs help during the school holidays, maybe you need childcare because of everyday work or maybe you would like your child to be outside taking part in different activities, socialising and making new friends instead of being indoors all day. We are a fresh, new company run by people with plenty of experience in organising and running holiday clubs that encourages young people to get off the sofa, or that Nintendo DS they crave, and get out there and take part in fun activities in a friendly and controlled environment. This can lead to new hobbies and interests, and of course making new friends.

Who would be looking after my child?

Gareth Coombes: has assisted and run activity clubs on the Island for nearly 13 years. He is well known to many children and parents across the island for tennis coaching and running childrens parties. Gareth has great experience in the running of a wide range of activities and possesses the knowledge and awareness to ensure this is done with full participation from children in a safe manner.

Michael Trotter: has nearly 10 years of experience in assisting and running activity clubs on the island. He has led activity clubs from a very young age and has had great success in doing so. Michael has also gained experience in working abroad in America on a children’s holiday camp during the summer as a Camp Counsellor and tennis coach. Michael is always planning new games and drills to get the best out of the players that he coaches, while maintaining a great level of enjoyment for all.

Facilities at KGV will include…

The outdoor facilities at KGV include both grass pitches and all-weather third-generation mixed-use games areas (3G Pitch) These areas are perfect for large games and competitions such as Football, Cricket, tag games and many more from our activity list below.

The Spensley Room – This indoor facility will be used to host a wide range of indoor activities such as dance sessions, bingo and parachute games. This room will also be used to store personal belongings such as bags, coats and drinks bottles upon sign in.

The Lansdown Room – A smaller indoor facility which is perfect to host our arts & crafts during morning activity sessions.

At lunch time this room will be set-up for a film, for those who want to relax and enjoy a bit of chilled time. Alternatively, we will have other options for the children including a sporty and non-sporty option.

Facilities at Beau Sejour will include…

Concourse – This will be the meeting point for registration and pickup. Personal belongings will also be stored in this area.

Main Sports Hall – We have access to the biggest sports hall on the island, we can run multiple team activities such as Dodgeball, Basketball, 5aside football and many more. With a big open space we will be able to run tournaments within the chosen activity.

Saumarez Room – This room will be used for chilled activities such as Bingo, Arts & crafts and a film over lunch time. With so many sports happening throughout the day this room will be perfect for a bit of downtime for those who would like a break in between sports.

Swimming Pool – Children that are 8years and above will get the opportunity to take part in a one hour free swim each day. Please fill in the swimming information on the booking page if your child wishes to take part.

Outdoor Tennis Court – When the weather allows we will be keen to get the children outside and make use of the tennis court for activities such as Tennis, Netball and Hockey.

Cambridge park – This area will get plenty of use in the summer, multiple team games and challenges in a big open space. Also a nice setting for lunch in the sun.
